The creation story in Genesis 1 is sometimes read as God created the universe and world in six literal 24-hour days. But the story is actually a lyrical work of art and the days are not chronological; they're structural. Days 1-3 are matched with Days 4-6. The former are spheres; the latter are the things that fill the spheres (read it for yourself!). This opens the meaning of the story in many fruitful ways.
